The 2025 Gotham Film Awards nominations have been revealed.
Paul Thomas Anderson’s “One Battle After Another” leads this year’s nominees with a record six nominations, including the top category of best feature. Anderson is also nominated for best director and adapted screenplay, while Benicio del Toro and Teyana Taylor are both nominated in the gender-neutral best supporting actor category for Gotham. Scene-stealing Chase Infiniti is also nominated for breakthrough actor.
In the Best Feature category, “One Battle After Another” will face four-time nominee “If I Had Legs I’d Kick You” as well as double nominees “Familiar Touch,” “Hamnet,” “Sorry,” “Bay,” “The Testament of Anne Lee,” and “Train Dreams,” and “Bugonia,” “East of Walls,” and “Lurker.” This year, Gotham has increased the number of Best Feature nominees from five to 10.
Since 2021, the Gotham Awards have recognized performers in gender-neutral categories.
A committee of critics, journalists, festival programmers, and film curators selects the Gotham Award nominees.
A separate jury of writers, directors, actors, producers, editors, and others directly involved in the making of the film will determine the final award recipient.
Recent Gotham Award winners include Oscar-winning films Everything Everywhere All at Once, CODA, Nomadland, Marriage Story, American Factory, Moonlight, Spotlight and Birdman.
The 35th Gotham Film Awards will be held on Monday, December 1, at their longtime home at Cipriani Wall Street in New York.
