Chris Evans is taking on a new role: fatherhood.
The 44-year-old “Captain America” star welcomed his first child with wife Alba Baptista over the weekend, TMZ reported on Tuesday.
The couple welcomed their first child on Saturday in Massachusetts.
The outlet did not disclose the baby’s name or gender.
Representatives for Evans and Baptista did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
In June, fans speculated that the couple had decided to start a family after the actor’s father, Louis Baptiste, responded to a fan account wishing him and Evans’ father, G. Roberts Evans III, a happy Father’s Day.
Louis commented, “Thank you so much, dear Chris. You’re next! 🥰.”
The Marvel star told Access Hollywood in November 2024 that he “definitely” wants to have children.
“I hope so,” he said of becoming a father one day. “The title of ‘dad’ is an exciting thing.”
He and Baptista, 28, married the previous year and had two weddings in Portugal and Massachusetts.
Evans’ dog, Dodger, whom he adopted in 2017, confirmed this to “E! News” in August.
“She’s very outgoing, a total social butterfly,” he joked. “She never got excited. She wanted to say hello to everyone. She probably stole the show.”
While it’s unclear when Evans began dating the “Warrior Nun” star, they went public with their romance in 2022.
Although they kept their engagement private, Evans said he would propose after their wedding.
“I proposed to my wife in Portuguese,” he told Nott in an interview in June. “Because she’s Portuguese, I learned how to say ‘Will you marry me?’ in Portuguese. I practiced all week.
“I was really nervous when it came time to do it,” Evans admitted. “I actually think I made a mistake, but I’m still aware of it.”
